Johnson City, TN – Pedestrian Critically Injured at W. State of Franklin Rd and Watauga Ave

Johnson City, TN (February 27, 2021) – A woman sustained critical injuries after she was hit by a car on Saturday, February 27th.

An official from the Johnson City Police Department said that officers reported to the scene at about 4:15 a.m. after being notified of an accident involving a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle on West State of Franklin Road in the area of Watauga Avenue.

A 2019 Nissan Rogue with Virginia plates was heading eastbound on State of Franklin Road when the driver struck a woman as she crossed the road.

The pedestrian, who has since been identified as Victoria Simm, 24, of Johnson City was transported to a local medical facility for emergency treatment. She is listed in critical condition.

This accident is being investigated by the Johnson City Police Department Traffic Crash Reconstruction Team.
