Pedestrians are at a much higher risk of enduring serious injuries and even death in a car accident than vehicle occupants. Although most pedestrians are lucky enough to never know what it feels like to be struck by a moving car, those who do are forced to deal with traumatic, life-threatening injuries. Some pedestrians even lose their lives in these accidents, which could be grounds for a claim of wrongful death.

Pedestrian accidents typically happen when drivers fail to notice them or neglect to yield the right of way in parking lots, intersections, and crosswalks. In many instances, drivers are distracted and take their eyes off the road. A driver that strikes a pedestrian on the roadside may be under the influence, speeding, or texting and driving.
