Knoxville, TN – Car Crashes into Pond After Two-Car Injury Accident on Maynardville Pk

Knoxville, TN (June 08, 2021) – Knox County police officers responded to a two-vehicle collision on Tuesday, June 7th in Knoxville.

Officials stated that the accident took place at the intersection of Maynardville Pike and Texas Valley Road at about 11:30 a.m. in North Knox County.

Rural Metro Fire responded to the scene and was assisted by Knox County Rescue, AMR Ambulance, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, and Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Upon their arrival, crews located a vehicle in the roadway with substantial front-end damage.

A second vehicle had gone off the roadway and overturned multiple times, ultimately rolling down an embankment and crashing into a pond. The driver was pinned inside the vehicle and required emergency extrication.  

The drivers of both vehicles sustained non-critical injuries and were taken to local hospitals for medical evaluation.

This accident is under investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
