Workplace Accidents in Tennessee

Knoxville, TN - One Killed, Two Injured in Deadly Accident at Nyrstar’s Immel Mine in Knox CoNearly 60,000 workplace injuries and illnesses were reported among Tennessee’s employers in just one year alone, resulting in an incidence rate of almost 3 cases per 100 workers. Unfortunately, workers and their families pay the price in these situations.

Thankfully, victims and their families can seek legal recourse. A personal injury lawsuit entitles those affected by these incidents to compensation for pain and suffering, which is something that’s not available under a simple worker’s compensation case.

With a personal injury claim, victims may seek financial recovery for all of the damages they have sustained, including things such as lost wages, diminished earning capacity, medical costs, anticipated medical costs, lifelong disability, and beyond. The benefits available through Tennessee worker’s compensation, which, at its core, is nothing more than an agreement between labor and business owners, are extremely limited.

For these reasons and more, it’s important that you safeguard your legal rights.
