Nashville, TN – Lois Mader Killed, Four Injured in Multi-Vehicle Accident on I-24

Nashville, TN (February 24, 2021) – A woman was killed during a collision involving several vehicles on Tuesday, February 23rd in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 at the Interstate 65 North split.

The fatal victim, who has since been identified as 59-year-old Lois Mader, a resident of Ten Mile, was killed at about 10:00 a.m. when her car was rear-ended as she sat in slow-moving traffic.

Sources show that a tractor-trailer operator from West Palm Beach, FL was taking the I-24 East split onto I-65 North and did not slow down in time to avoid crashing into the back-end of a Nissan Armada, which in turn collided with the Jeep Wrangler driven by Mader. The Wrangler then crashed into a pick-up truck, as well as a second tractor-trailer.

Mader was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four other people were transported via ambulances to local hospitals for emergency medical treatment.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim, Mrs. Lois Mader, at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
