Powell, TN – UPDATE: Two Injured in Head-on Car Crash at W Beaver Creek Dr & Brickyard RdTennessee Legal News
Powell, TN (July 18, 2021) – Rescue units with Knox County Rural Metro Fire and several other emergency response crews reported to the scene of a serious head-on accident on Thursday, July 15, in Powell and have since released further details about the crash.
According to Jeff Bagwell with Rural Metro Fire, rescue crews were called to the scene at West Beaver Creek Drive near Brickyard Road. Upon arrival, authorities discovered that a victim was trapped in their car with serious injuries. Knox County Rescue also responded to help the injured victims.
Bagwell said that the driver of one car was able to get out on their own while the other driver had to be cut from their car. Both victims were taken to the trauma center via ground transportation for what appeared to be serious injuries, according to a statement released by Bagwell.
Initial reports stated that it appeared one of the vehicles had crossed the center line and struck the other car head-on, though it’s unclear which driver caused the wreck.
This accident is under investigation by local law enforcement, and officers have asked anyone with information to contact them directly.
