Seymour, TN – House Fire on Boyd’s Creek Hwy Results in FatalityTennessee Legal News
Seymour, TN (February 06, 2021) – One person died during a house fire in Seymour house fire on Friday, February 5th.
Reports show that at about 5:30 a.m., the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the 200 block of Boyd’s Creek Highway. Officials confirmed that a woman was killed during the incident. Although it is currently unclear how many people were in the house when the fire broke out, all were able to escape except for one.
Seymour Volunteer Fire crews responded to the fire just minutes after the call went out where firefighters say they had a hard time locating the victim due to gasoline running down the driveway as well as a few cars being in the vicinity.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been determined and investigators are awaiting autopsy results.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the cause of the fire.
